“BARONG CELENG” (2004)
     
A  representation of the unique traditions in the Bali living style. In
all village communities the “Barong Dance” which has many different
figures. One of those is the Barong Celeng (face-mask, expressing the giant pig). According to the story about Barong, Barong also means the transformation of the manifestation of the God. During the special day named Galungan on Bali Island, Barong will travel around bringing peaceful influence door to door complete with gamelan musicians. The Barong dancers will dance around the village giving the people fun and full protection with the spirit of the Barong. Barong Celeng always makes the young people and the children very happy because the dancers will show them the dynamical attraction with the Barong. Barong is also sacred and it means a holy mask.
